8 Aspen Rentals Still Available For High Season

The offseason in Aspen is noticeably busier this year — gone are the quiet streets in the downtown core that locals long for come every October. A lingering effect from the pandemic, it could be attributed to factors like a stacked fall festival schedule to the influx of new full-time residents.

According to a recent Bloomberg report, “Aspen real estate is still booming” with “the only thing slowing down its luxury tier, brokers say, is lack of supply.” Inventory is equally as scarce on the rental side, especially during the always-at-capacity holiday season.

“[Holiday home rentals this year] are extremely limited due to this ongoing high demand and longer-than-usual stays,” explains Christie’s International Real Estate broker associate Fiona Hagist. “When people do finally muster up the courage to return to their hometowns, it is often not before securing their next stay.”

She added, “Because second homeowners, and locals alike, are clearly aware of the desirability of their properties, coupled with tenants willing to pay high rental rates, there is a somewhat constant, yet slow trickle of new inventory replenishing the maxed out rental market.”

So if you’re looking for a home away from home for the holidays, don’t fret, Christie’s International Real Estate Aspen’s dedicated luxury rental team still has a number of options to consider. However, Hagist cautions, “People should make their plans and book quickly. Those who wait around for the right property that ticks all the boxes, might be left with nothing at all.”
